The Snake River Section is an active participant in Project SEED. Project SEED is a program that helps economically disadvantaged high school students realize their potential and pursue a college education. To achieve this goal, students receive a fellowship award ($2500) and are placed into an academic laboratory for 10 weeks during the summer. The students work with scientists who help them develop laboratory and communication (both written and oral) skills. Mentors provide individual guidance and letters of recommendation for college. Participants often receive travel grants to present their research at an ACS National Meeting and may return for a second summer fellowship to continue their project. For more information regarding the Snake River Project Seed Program or information on how to apply, contact Don Warner.
